In early 2014 the Australian Productivity Commission undertook an inquiry into the efficacy of current national natural disaster funding arrangements. The inquiry took particular account of the priority of effective mitigation to reduce the impact of disasters on communities.
The inquiry invited submissions and in June 2014 CCPA responded with our submission focused on the need for a sustainable funding for expected increases in coastal disasters from the impacts of climate change
