CCPA has opposed the Draft Coastal Zone Management Plan for Wooli since its release in Sept. 2010.
Our initial task is to have Council reject this draft with its central strategy of “planned retreat” and replace it with a well researched beach protection strategy.
This petition is an important part of finding solutions to a problem which will have major impacts on many coastal communities for decades to come.
Your signature below will help protect Wooli now and Australia’s coastal communities in future.
PETITION to Clarence Valley Council.
Adding my email address here (link opens in new tab) confirms:
1. my belief that if the Clarence Valley Council approves the Draft Coastal Zone management Plan published in Sept.2010, no action will be taken to defend the Wooli community and environment from the threat of increasing coastal erosion and Council will adopt a policy of planned abandonment of the village;
2. as a resident/ratepayer/visitor to Wooli, I ask that Clarence Valley Council reject this plan. I further ask that Council take a more compassionate approach to Wooli community and a more responsible attitude to Wooli environmental issues, through increased community consultation and consideration of options to the proposed plan.
Have your say!
